Special Exhibition "The World of a dragonfly"
As a side event of 2012 ICO, the Special Exhibition "The World of a dragonfly" will be held at the Congress venue from July 14, - November 4, 2012. The charm of and the world of dragonflies are introduced by exhibiting abundant specimens, mainly of the museum's worldwide collection of the Odonata, together with beautiful photographs caught in the natural world.

Photo Competition
In this competition, the dragonfly photographs taken and exhibited by the applicants will be judged, and then the best photographer(s) will be honored.
Eligibility is limited to those who registers and participates in 2012 ICO. Those who would like to join the contest, please fill out the Photo competition Application Form, and then send it as an attached file to an e-mail addressed to Akira Ozono:

in charge of the Competition by June 30. The Competition manager will reply within 5 days after receiving an e-mail with application form.
Applicants should print dragonfly photographs on papers of sizes between 'A4' (210mm x 297mm) and 'A3+'(= 'Super B'; 330mm x 483mm) and bring them to the Congress venue. Every photograph must have been taken by the applicant and the copyright must be retained by him/her. One applicant can apply less than seven works. A set of less than five photographs is regarded as one work in this contest.
Applicants should hand all the works together with a card on which the following data were filled out to a Congress receptionist at their arrivals:

All the works entered will be exhibited from July 29th to August 2nd in a room of the Congress venue into which many citizens as well as the congress participants will visit to see. The works will be examined by five photographers including three professionals in the morning of August 1st. The commendation ceremony will take place in the main hall of the Congress venue just after all the research talks of the day have finished in August 1st. Competition winner(s) will be presented with testimonial(s) and remembrance(s).
